The DVD-S54 offers a 1080p up-conversion function that converts non-HD sources to high-definition (1920 x 1080 pixels) quality images. And the DVD-S54 is Deep Colour ready, which means they can reproduce images with 12-bit, 4,096-step gradation. You can enjoy exceptionally rich, natural looking colours, with smooth, detailed gradation and minimal colour banding. You can operate the DVD-S54 with the VIERA TV's remote control. If you want to enjoy DVD theatre with the DVD-S54, you can start immediately, by simply pressing the VIERA Link button on the VIERA TV's remote control.

The DVD-S54 offers the ease and convenience of Super Multi-Format playback, which lets users play all of their DVDs and CDs, regardless of the recording format. The DVD-S54 can play back DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW, +R, +R DL, +RW, CD, CD-R/RW, Video CD, SVCD, WMA, MP3, JPEG, MPEG4 and DivX. So you don't have to worry about whether your the DVD-S54 can play back everything in your current video and CD library.
