I bought a cuple of these now - one for me - one for someone else - and so far they have worked really well...they are really compact - the curved edges and corners make them easy to fit into a bag - and the speed is fine for general computer applications. All the different brands of netbook are more or less the same inside - I chose this one for the keyboard layout and compact styling. I usually use a mouse with it - I hate trackpads - but this one is actually pretty good - because the trackpad itself is so smooth - it responds quite well - for £200 it's a good deal - but you might need to buy an extended battery - and will certainly need to upgrade to 2GB of memory.

Bought the NP-310 in Singapore as a backup for my new Toshiba Tecra M10 10I. I travel the world as a Lloyds ModuSpec Surveyor which covers travelling in jungles offshore and full days of travelling on dirt roads.
The Samsung which was made in September 09 has a battery life of nearly 9 hours. The keyboard is as good as the Toshiba to use. I have been using this computer for 1 week now mostly on word and excel. I can't find any faults with this computer except that I have to carry a DVD drive which came with the package deal. The case is solid and robust and should be able to take all the knocks as I travel around Indonesia. I have been working as much as 6 hours on the same charge and still plenty of power left.

Sadly, the N310 had everything I was looking for except the longer battery life of its predecessor the N120. I discovered this set-back too late to avoid the despatch, so agreed with Oyyy to refuse delivery and accept a full refund. Why Samsung did not give the N310 the 9-hour battery option is a mystery to me!
